Devising the best game plans & designs to help with deterring nuisance bird species nationwide. We utilize a multitude of different physical bird deterrents & visual/audio to help assist the physical.

Pigeons

One of the most common urban area birds. They frequent downtown areas, as well as the large facilities and plants around surrounding suburbs and rural areas. Some of the most extensive dropping clean up jobs we do consist of pigeon droppings. Pigeons can secrete up to 1/4 pound of droppings per day, per bird. They make nests out of their own feces along with twigs, and feathers.

You can find them perching, loafing , roosting and nesting on rooftops, ledges, air handling units, beams, and signs. We clean out the droppings and nesting debris from these areas, then we provide in depth exclusion solutions . Depending on the areas of concern, different exclusion options are available.
Flock reduction programs, hazing, netting, shock track systems, structural altercations, visual deterrents, slides and spikes are all acceptable pigeon deterrent and removal options depending on the scenario.

Large open rafter and beam areas are usually in need of bird netting as a physical barrier to keep the pigeons away. Ledges and beams are dealt with in numerous ways depending on the application and scenario. Airport hangars, open shops, overhangs, air intakes, ceiling structures, and exterior openings typically benefit from custom netting solutions. Proper products and installation is key when providing our clients with pigeon removal solutions. We only utilize high grade materials for our bird exclusions.

Starlings

European starlings are a common nuisance bird species. Found in many different locations, agricultural, industrial, commercial, and residential. On residential homes, they tend to frequent attics, vents, and soffit areas. The nests usually tend to be fairly large in size. Primarily made out of hay, it looks similar to a large hay stack inside of an attic. They come through compromised exhaust vent systems and tear through the pipe wall entering into the attics.

The plastic exhaust vents and vent covers don’t usually hold up to extreme hot and cold conditions. We replace them or install vent covers made of metal. These last longer in inclement weather and look better over time.

In commercial and industrial sites, starlings tend to congregate in larger numbers. From 5 to 50 at a time, the starlings tear out foam insulation from walls and ceiling fixtures. Ledges and beams are great hang out areas for these birds as well. Starlings droppings (similar to most bird droppings), are corrosive and deteriorate metal, wood, and concrete over time. Netting is an option for large areas such as airport hangars and loading docks.

Open ledge areas spanning in long linear footage can be taken care of with optical deterrents, shock systems, custom metal fabrication, and slides. Open barn areas with large amounts of droppings and nesting materials can be cleaned out by our technicians. Hazing programs , trapping, deterrents, harvesting and exclusion methods are all feasible prior to a large bird dropping clean out and removal.

Swallows

Two most common types of swallows that are usually a nuisance are the cliff swallow, and the barn swallow.
Both types create a nest out of mud materials and saliva. They will usually create their nests on a porous substrate such as brick, wood, stucco, and EIFS siding. They may also nest atop lights and metal beams when given the chance.

Swallows are a federally protected bird, meaning that you cannot move a nest if its occupied by eggs, or fledglings. After the young have left the nest, you may then scrape the nests down, but be careful, as they can have two separate broods in the same season. Meaning that after the first brood leaves, it can become quickly occupied by another brood.

When removing the swallow nests, be aware of your surroundings. Quarantine off the areas around and below the nests to protect others and property.
If the nests have been there for a while, then proper scrubbing, heat, pressure, and some cleaning dissolving chemical applications may be needed to remove the entirety of the nests.

Some substrates will still show the rings where the nests were. When this is the case, its typically suggested to apply some touch up paints to blend it back in. Depending on the scenario, physical deterrents that usually work best, are bird slide/slope at a 45 degree angle, netting to create a physical barrier against them nesting, shock track if its atop a surface, and the other remedies are usually on a separate case by case basis.

Sparrows

The common house sparrow is one of the most typical sparrow species we come in contact with doing nuisance bird management.
They tend to nest in small crevasses on homes and commercial properties. Sparrows make their nest out of old bird feathers, straw/ hay, plastic trash , and garbage.

National Bird Solutions sparrow removal services removes old bird nests from signs, platforms, walls, pipes, exhaust fans , vents, ledges and beams at industrial and commercial facilities. They cause massive air flow issues when making nests inside of ventilation systems. Unsightly nests and bird feces on signs cause credibility and perception issues with major brands, we have long term solutions to keep the sparrows from nesting, perching, loafing, and pooping on your signs and branding.

We install netting, shock flex track systems, custom metal fabrication, slides, and optical/ visual deterrent systems. Site modification and trapping are also sometimes feasible solutions as well. Sparrow removal from inside stores varies between the use of traps, mist net systems, hazing removal, and harvesting from site with the authorized use of projectiles.

Site specifics and bird pressure play a large role in a proper sparrow removal company program. Each property has different needs from the next. Sparrows on residential structures are typically found nesting in walls, behind siding, at soffit junctions, where soffit vents may be compromised or missing, at builders or construction gaps where drip edge is missing, roof vents (both metal and plastic type roof vents), and exhaust vent systems. Whether we are replacing the comprised vent(s), or adding custom metal solutions to keep them out, we warranty all of our work.
